Community Agreement

We are so glad you're here. Our gatherings are a space created by and for queer women and non-binary people of colour, with love, intention, and care. To keep this a safer, supportive environment for everyone, we ask all attendees to read, respect, and commit to the following agreement.

Our Commitment

We are committed to creating a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and celebrated. This is a space free from discrimination, harassment, and violence of any kind.

What We Ask of Everyone

Respect each other's identities: Always use the names and pronouns people share with you. If you’re unsure, politely ask or listen carefully to how others address them.

Be mindful of boundaries: This means no unwanted touching, intrusive questions, or photographing/filming someone without their consent.

Value differences: We all have different experiences and journeys. Listen deeply, avoid assumptions, and honour people's lived experiences.

Speak thoughtfully: Avoid language that is racist, sexist, transphobic, ableist, classist, fatphobic, or otherwise harmful.

This includes jokes, "banter", songs, or any comments at the expense of others.

Challenge anti-Blackness: Anti-Black attitudes, microaggressions, exclusionary behaviour, or racial stereotyping have no place here.

Hold confidentiality: Stories shared here stay here. Do not share anyone's personal experiences or identity outside the gathering without their permission.

Care for the land: Respect nature and wildlife. Follow 'Leave No Trace' principles and help us leave the spaces we visit better than we found them.

Stay substance-aware: Our gathering are sober friendly spaces to ensure everyone feels safe and grounded. Please do not bring illegal drugs or become overly intoxicated whilst with us.

Behaviours That Are Not Welcome

We have a zero-tolerance approach to:

  • Racism (including anti-Blackness), colourism, or xenophobia

  • Misgendering, deadnaming, or disrespecting pronouns

  • Homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, or queerphobia

  • Ableism or discrimination based on health or neurodiversity

  • Body-shaming or fatphobia

  • Sexual harassment or any non-consensual activity

  • Bullying, intimidation, or exclusionary behaviour

If any of these behaviours occur, we may ask the person to leave the retreat immediately, without a refund.

If Something Happens

If you experience or witness something that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or unwelcome, please speak to a member of the Touch Grass team as soon as you can. You can also report anonymously here.

We are here to listen without judgment and to take action where needed.

By attending any Touch Grass event, you are agreeing to uphold this Community Agreement, to look after each other, and to nurture the kind of space we all deserve.
